Description:

Tall thin tree with beautiful red flowers in February/March. Seed pods are stuffed full of "cotton".

Habitat:

Parks and gardens. Very popular in Guangdong.

Notes:

The "cotton" is used for mattresses and bedding because of its insulation properties.
