Field Notes

Description:

Solitary 10-11mm gold and black bee wallowing around in bull thistle. Back legs bright yellow (with pollen). I'm guessing an Andrena (mining) bee, but not sure which species.

Habitat:

Rolling around in Cirsium vulgare (Bull thistle) near a deep trench filled with shrubs and flowers.
