Field Notes

Notes:

I think this is a very young Song Sparrow. I came around the corner of the house and it was sitting on the ground. It was so still for so long that I wasn't even sure I was looking at a bird. Lol. You can't tell in the picture (the sun was setting, bad lighting) but it still had some fuzzy baby feathers sticking out from its new feathers.

Species ID Suggestions

Savannah Sparrow

Passerculus sandwichensis

Song Sparrow

Melospiza melodia

Comments (1)

Short tail, skinny bill, and crisp breast streaking suggest Savannah over Song.
