Description:
The Eastern Newt underwater and in image two the eggs. Newts form a family of salamanders that lack the side grooves typical of most salamanders. They lay eggs water in the Spring. The larvae remain aquatic until the late summer, then lose their gills and transform into the red land-dwelling creatures know as efts.
