Field Notes

Description:

Large grouping of plants about a foot wide. Small flowers quarter inch to 5/16th in diameter. Ovate opposite clasping leaves with two emerging flowers at each junction. Flowers close when not in direct sun light.

Habitat:

Growing in occasionally mowed area next to coastal prairie, Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge
