Field Notes

Description:

The moorhen in photo 1 appeared to be sitting on a nest and didnt move from it all the time I was here, the moorhn in photo 3 and 4 seemed to be looking at or for something in the bush and then lay down at the side of it and the moorhen in photo 4 was having a scrap with another moorhen although in the photo all you can see is the large splash of water from the losing moorhen. very commonly seen on most stretches of water and very distinguishable from its black plumage and red bill.

Habitat:

seen on a nature reserve for wetland species.
