Field Notes

Description:

Eats small insects and small spiders, and sometimes geckos. Capture prey sticking his beak cracks and cavities.
Feeding of small insects among the low foliage, what gives the scientific name of "musculus", which means "mouse", since it has the impression of be a "mouse", when skipping through the land.

Habitat:

It occurs in southern Mexico, Central and South America, and is thus the most widely distributed bird in the Americas. I found this specimen in a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.

Notes:

This little specimen was in my garden hunting ants and other small insects.
