Description:
These brightly flowering plants are also known as Ice plants depending on region, however as pretty and as colourful as they are in some places they are classed as an invasive species due to the fact that they are carpet forming and are hard to get rid of once they have taken root somewhere. They are native to South Africa and thrive in full sunshine. their leaves and fruit are also edible and are made into a sour jam.
Habitat:
seen growing in gardens and along the roadside in Moraira, spain.
