Field Notes

Description:

~2.5 inch SVL male that was very colorful with many shades of brown and orange.He was atypical in that he had multiple warts (3) in the dark spots on his body. His call was typical for an American toad. The shape of the parotoid glands and the spur where the cranial crests meet the parotoids were also typical for American toad.

Habitat:

Very rural area in open area of woods where a house sits. He was found calling from a mud puddle in the driveway after a rain storm.
