Description:

Mallards are frequently seen in city parks where there are ponds. Drakes have a dark green head and brown chest and pale flanks, with ducks having a mottled appearance. Young mallards resemble adult females, but have dull olive rather than black marked orange bills.

Habitat:

City ponds, rivers, and coastal marshes
