Field Notes

Description:

Taking a nap down @ the pond. Sometimes this Heron's plumage looks blue and sometimes black.

Habitat:

Down @ the pond. Local Marsh.

Notes:

I wonder how old and what sex this heron is? According to my sister, as far as she can remember, this heron has returned to the pond every Spring. She says it's been there since her children were small. Her children are in their early 20's now. I do notice though that some days it looks tired and old.
