That helps a lot thanks. I can now see some detail of the spore baring surface :-) From what I can see I'd suggest an Antrodia species such as A. malicola. However there are more possibilities including Datronia Mollis.

Do you have any close up shots? Perhaps you could crop the original image to show a small section of the fungus and re-upload it to improve the resolution?
