Field Notes

Description:

Large tri-colored fly, almost 2cm in length - mainly black with striking ivory-coloured large band on abdomen; and large red-rufous head (eyes). Transparent wings with darker stripe.

Habitat:

Found in montane region, on edge of coniferous forest.
