Field Notes

Description:

A juvenile, male, Yellow-headed Blackbird

Habitat:

Along a one-lane dirt road the separates a large slough and an area of marsh, near Prairie Ridge state land outside of Fergus Falls, Minnesota just past Orwell Dam

Notes:

I kept going back to this area looking for young waterfowl but frequently found numerous Yellow-headed Blackbirds which I hadn't seen in previous years. Some people don't like their song or "noise". Personally I kind of like it but perhaps its grown on me and is reminiscent of warm summer days
