Description:

Is usually found on large trees, running up and down within the crevices of the bark. It is diurnal, and a striking form as it walks slowly about on tree trunks and logs. The hard spiny armor is sufficient to protect it from any ordinary enemy. Almost always is found in company with the membracid Tragopa peruviana. It is suggested that the ants take advantage of the sugary secretions of Tragopa.--------------------------------- Se encuentra generalmente en grandes árboles, corriendo arriba y abajo en las grietas de la corteza. Es diurno, y una forma llamativa que camina lentamente sobre troncos de árboles y troncos. La dura armadura Espinosa es suficiente para protegerlo contra cualquier enemigo común. Casi siempre se encuentra junto con el membracido Tragopa peruviana. Se sugiere que las hormigas aprovechan de las secreciones azucaradas de Tragopa.
