Habitat:

air plant growing/hanging from other trees, often large oaks. found in wooded hammocks, pinelands, parks.

Notes:

Is hard to think about the South of the U.S. without thinking about Spanish Moss. Not a moss at all, this delicate bromeliad is mostly seen from afar as it sways in the breeze draping large oak trees. On closer inspection however, you may even see its flowers (pic 3).
