Field Notes

Description:

Large gray, brown and white owl with long ear tufts. This owl has been in this same tree for nearly a week. This is North America's second largest owl.

Habitat:

Palm tree right on campus of a busy High School. This is one of the most widespread owls in North America.

Notes:

Spotted by my teen nature enthusiasts :)

Hi Christy, thank you! I've added it to your awesome mission. This owl was on campus at a High School so you know it's not afraid of people. I had to dance around for it to even bother taking a glance at me for this series. They're so beautiful!
