This was so amazing. The sloth continued its descent while being videoed, presumably for its weekly terrestrial bathroom visit. The video is here: https://www.facebook.com/TucanAndTarpon.

It appears to be breeding season right now and we are seeing sloths all the time. The call of the female is quite a piercing whistle, sort of like a firework that is falling, just before it explodes. Once we listened to it online we realized just how often we were hearing it. One in particular was calling regularly; the potential suitor finally appeared but kept climbing the wrong trees in an effort to find her. Eventually she gave up on him and took off, maybe she didn't like the look of him. We have seen this female & baby a few times now, as well as several others, including one my husband rescued from two dogs.
