Description:

Dark body and head with a white neck. This guy was literally 10 ft away from the vehicle in a tree and didn't fly off so had to take some photos!

Habitat:

Just a few meters away from the ocean, sitting in a tree in thorn scrub area.

the exact same thing happened to me while i was trying to photograph baby barred owls... i didn't want to use the flash and hurt their eyes.
Yea it was super late in the day, the sun had already gone down. I tried bumping up my ISO but then my shutter speed was too slow and they were all blurry. Was very frustrating! I have some better photos of these guys coming up, just have a lot from my trip to upload!
looks like this was taken when it was really dark... i hate when the lightings bad then i have to adjust my camera a lot! it looks like you've done a good job with this guy though. I've been trying to get a good picture of one of these guys for a long time. :)
