Description:

Although they can appear quite cute the introduced non-native Grey squirrel is classed as invasive and has unfortunately drastically reduced the population of our native red squirrels (either by squirrelpox which they carry or simply forcing them out of their patch) which now only live in small pockets of protected woodlands in the UK due to . it hunts mostly on the ground or in peoples gardens unlike the red squirrel which spend more time in the trees. Its drey can be seen in photos 4 and 5

Habitat:

Seen in local woodlands which are predominatly Oak and Birch
