Description:

An adult Hooded Merganser during the breeding or mating season

Habitat:

Open areas of the Otter Tail River throughout Otter Tail County in NW Minnesota

Notes:

Though small I find the male Hooded Merganser to be extremely attractive and very weary of humans on foot. These images were zoomed to my 300 mm maximum and cropped however, I keep trying for closer and better images of these handsome fellows.
