Field Notes

Description:

The American Robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory songbird of the thrush family, and not related to the European Robin (a flycatcher) it was named after.

Habitat:

The American Robin is very common in this area, and be found in abundance all throughout North America.. In my yards they spend a good deal of time under the deciduous trees picking bugs out from beneath fallen leaves. They share this space with nuthatches and woodpeckers.

Notes:

Robins are not shy at all. In fact, they tend to follow me around when I do yard work or any sort, snatching up any bugs that I've disturbed or (sometimes) nesting material I've created.
