Habitat:
It grows forest and meadow edges and in open woods. It prefers fresh and nutrient-rich loamy soil. The species occurs from southwestern Europe to the southern Switzerland , Austria, southern Poland to the Balkans. East to southern Russia. It is a temperate-continental sub-Mediterranean species.
