Field Notes

Description:

This 40 mm wide polypore had a leathery texture and was smooth on both sides, thinning towards the margin. The stipe was smooth and the same colour as the cap.

Habitat:

damp eucalyptus forest. Spotted growing amidst leaf litter - unsure if there was buried wood.

Notes:

I have spotted quite a few of these leathery polypores that have colourless stipes and a waxy texture but I am not able to find an ID. Will keep looking but any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
