Field Notes

Description:

A small red ladybird with black markings. AND what appears to be a gold crown on the head of the bug. I have no species ID for this bug and would appreciate some help – thanks.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

I didn’t notice the crown until the bug hit my computer screen, otherwise I would have moved in for a macro shot and probably collected the bug for a closer examination.

I have shots of this species from before, but none had this curious crown – any ideas?

The second image is an extreme blow-up, if that helps.

Yes, that is the one. So, definitely not a local occurrence, but FOBI don't know either. Thanks for taking a look, very much appreciated. Dave
Same one like this: http://www.fobi.web.id/v/unid/insecta/Coccinellidae_Tahura-Soeryo_IW.jpg.html Tricky one as it seems...
