Field Notes

Description:

Unmistakable yellow warbler species with white-trimmed dark mask. The female is duller, yellow green with no mask. The song of the Common Yellowthroat is witchety-witchety-witchety or variations of that. Heard all over North America in suitable habitat.

Habitat:

Loves small shrubs near water: lakes, marshes, ponds, rivers.

Notes:

One of my favourite birds to watch and listen to!
