Description:

Cap 1.24-4" wide
Stalk 2-4" high

Brownish, brain like with whitish stalk

Deadly

A saggital cut down the cap reveals chambers as opposed to the honey comb shape true morels possess

Habitat:

Throughout North America, most commonly found in the north and in mountains.

Fruiting body appears usually btwn April - June

Found on the ground underneath conifers

Notes:

3 were found within a few feet of each other
