Field Notes

Description:

Peonies are generally a cool-climate flower, but they actually only need about one month per year of cold weather with temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Fortunately, Dallas' location is just north enough to experience below 40 temperatures from late December through February. If you lived any further south in the state, your peonies would likely wither and scorch in the heat.

Habitat:

Wildlife habitat garden. This plant makes the ants happy.

Notes:

Bought at a nursery on a whim :)
