Field Notes

Description:

Brown and white hawk with narrow bars on the tail.

Habitat:

This bird couldn't care less that we were hiking right under the tree it was perched on. It was content cleaning itself then flying to another nearby Engelmann Oak to look for prey.

Notes:

Spotted by one of my teen nature enthusiasts.
