Description:

Small beetles, mating, male 3mm long and female 4mm.

Habitat:

Spotted on Guinea grass (Urochloa maxima) at James Cook University, Cairns QLD

This looks like one of the cylinder leaf beetles. They seem to have great difficulty coupling and look rather comical. They have very long antennae. I cannot find your particular species. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8322758
