Field Notes

Description:

A young or juvenile American Bald Eagle in flight as seen from directly below

Habitat:

All around open areas of the Otter Tail River and throughout Otter Tail County

Notes:

We were waiting patiently on the dam for a flock of Common Mergansers to get close enough to photograph when suddenly all the Canadian Geese, Common Goldeneyes and Mergansers took off into the air, flying over and unfortunately away from where we were sitting. This was the cause of all the river commotion...a young American Bald Eagle chasing the tails of everything that swam in or sat next to the river. Grrr. Sure was a beautiful bird even though he put an immediate end to our photography session this day.
