Description:

A Scarce Swallowtail, a very common Greek endemic butterfly. This female individual was spotted in the garden of the Natural History Museum, Volos, Greece. It didn't seem to be in great condition, it could barely sit in a leaf or so, but since these butterflies live only around 8-14 days, I guess she's near the end of her life circle...
Along with Papilio machaon, these butterflies are called "doctors" (from the mythical brothers and doctors Machaon & Podalirius, the sons of Asclepius)
