Field Notes

Description:

1cm red ant with black abdomen. Enlarged upper part of legs. Spiny, peanut-shaped double thorax. Hyper-active, highly aggressive.

Habitat:

Angophera or Scribbly Gum bark, not seen on the ground. Diurnal. Remnant woodland, depleted soils, Ridgetop

Notes:

I have another spotting of this species being parasitized by a wasp
