Description:

Beautifully colored duck that has a bright yellow beak, dark green head and neck and body mixed with brown, black and white. It is a dabbling duck and spends most of its time in water and feeds from the lakes.

Habitat:

Has a large range of habitats including the Americas, Europe, Asia and North Africa and was recently introduced to Australia and New Zealand.

Notes:

When they spread their wings you can see different colored feathers that are used for attracting attention.
