Glossy Ibis
Plegadis falcinellus
28.2715, -80.665
Field Notes
Description:
Looks black from a distant. Up close it is glossier and actually very iridescent with lots of different colors. The bill is a dark grayish brown and the legs are also gray. They are not as commonly spotted as the white ibis, as from my experience, so it is always a nice surprise to see one.
Habitat:
Tidal Wetlands and open grassy areas.
Notes:
Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Titusville, Florida
