Description:

Habitat:

Grasslands- This was spotted near the North Platte River valley in the Sandhills of Western Nebraska.

Notes:

This bird was 'sleeping' on a branch maybe six feet above the ground at the top of Scottbluff Nat. Monument- a bluff that sits 200 feet above the surrounding terrain.

Not a Kestrel! I don't know my Nightjars but it definitely is one.
