Field Notes

Description:

Marine snail that feed on benthic diatoms, a type of phtoplankton. They grow to about an inch long. Light brown in color with some other colors mixed in and spiraled with ridges.

Habitat:

Found in sloughs and estuaries.

Notes:

Noticed these at low tide in a waterway to the bay.
