Field Notes

Description:

Low growing, ground cover wildflower. Tiny white flowers, weak stems with a line of hair on one side, smooth, ovate leaves. Small green seed pods.
Introduced from Eurasia but well established in North America. Generally considered a weed and undesirable in gardens and yards.

Habitat:

Backyard garden. Commonly found in disturbed areas.

Notes:

It's edible and nutritious! Most often eaten as a salad green.
