Field Notes

Description:

From the Crow family. Long legs and very long tail. Thick yellow bill. Black head, chest, back and tail. Undertail and top of legs are also black. White patch on wings, white belly and flanks. Some will have more or little yellow around the eyes.

Habitat:

Only found in central and southern California in open fields of oak and near farms.
