Field Notes

Notes:

Tiny beetle "photo bomb" LOL! Didn't know he was there until after I took the first photo. Not finding any definitive common name but I think I got the right species (with help!)

Species ID Suggestions

Metallic wood boring beetle

Acmaeodera sp.

I just spent a day going through the metallic wood boring beetles on Bugguide, trying to ID the ones I spotted recently. I'm feeling very confident about the genus. You might want to flip through the Acmaeodera pics at Bugguide and see if you can narrow it to a particular species.
