Thank you for helping me Jason, I already did my first spotting yesterday.
About this plant, do you ever smell the tip of young leaves? If smells fragrant it could be Zingiber aromaticum since there is another which is not. I have one but never grow that tall, it's about one meter or less. Maybe it's because I pick the tips of young leaves frequently? I love them for Javanese dish called 'bothok', taste excellent to me.
Hi Nenik! I'm not so sure about Z. aromaricum.. Because the leaf is more than 2 m tall.. To create a spotting, you can click "Upload a new spotting" on "home".. Choose you photo one by one, add the common name and the scientific name. Also the description, location, habitat, date, and missions.. You can join the missions in you area.. Read our FAQ page for more information. :)
Looks like Zingiber aromaticum flower or called 'bangle' in Javanese. By the way I want to upload my photos but don't know how. Could you help me please, thank you.
