Description:
Adéphagous beetle insect, belonging to the Carabidae family. Carnivore, flying, endowed with strong jaws and long antennae that are inserted at the base of the same.
They are brightly colored, metallic beetles, often with some kind of ivory-colored pattern or with cream-colored markings.
Length: from 10.5 to 14.5 mm.
Habitat:
On the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It is common to find it on forest roads, on the edges and on sandy surfaces, especially in warmer areas.
Notes:
Adults can be seen from April to September. Both adults and larvae are fearsome predators of other invertebrates. The larvae usually dig holes in the trails in order to create a fall trap.
