Field Notes

Description:

A small grey and black Moth, approximately 3-4cm from wing to wing.
The bottom edges of the wings have a pattern that resembles 'sewing' stitches around them.The very tips of the wings have a feathery like appearance.

Habitat:

Found in the backyard.

@ Jakubko. Thank you for the Quick ID Jakubko. Goodto know. Any leads help me. Thank you also for the compliment. It was a hard shot to get. I was up a ladder in my pajamas and @ a strange angle. I was hoping not to shake and end up with a blurry image... well, honestly, I was hoping not to shake and fall off the ladder. Lol. :0
I'm afraid I can only ID this one to a genus. Currently, dissection is needed to differentiate species, and even then, there are several undocumented species. Beautiful detail in your shot!
