Field Notes

Description:

Listed as critically endangered with less than 10,000 individuals around the world.

Cheetahs do not pose a threat to human life. However, in the wild, they do hunt livestock and because they are diurnal (hunting in the early morning and late afternoon), they are often the likely cats seen by farmers during day time and most of the time, 'wrongly blamed' for killing the farmer's livestock and therefore hunted/killed by farmers :(

Notes:

This photos were taken at Cheetah Outreach, Cape Town.
Cheetah Outreach is an education and community-based programme created to raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and to campaign for its survival.
