Field Notes

Description:

1.7 m, long legs, tail with black tip, light brown in color, eats small mammals like peccaries, deer, paca and agoutis. Usually silent.

Habitat:

Large tracts of unspoiled forest, often in hilly or mountainous terrain. Found in the Caribbean and Pacific slope of Costa Rica. I captured this stunning video of a puma in the daytime in one of my heat-sensing cameras at Hacienda Baru Wildlife Refuge near Dominical, Costa Rica.
