Description:

Obrium maculatum is a common species of long-horned beetle. Length is 4-7 mm. Pronotum strongly constricted at base.

Habitat:

Range is TX-FL-NY-NE / Mex to Costa Rica. This one was attracted to a porch light at the edge of a deciduous forest in Edgefield County, SC.

Notes:

Season is Apr-Aug (mostly), based on BugGuide.net data. Feeds on many hardwoods and shrubs, incl. oak and hickory. Thanks to Eric Eaton who identified this beetle on the "Facebook Insect ID Group of the World".
