Please add to and join my mission, "Moths of the World:" http://www.projectnoah.org/missions/8841449 Thank you very much!!
Lovely! This is a beautiful native species, and thankfully is not the harmful Lymantria dispar, or the Gypsy Moth. Campaea perlata is in the Geometridae family, which is characterized by a delicate shape with the hindwings showing. There are exceptions, but those are few. Here's another link for Campaea perlata: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=6796 Here's a link for Lymantria dispar, which is in the family Lymantriidae. These moths generally have a "bulky" appearance: http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=8318 Hope this helps, and great detail on the shots!
