Description:

Every Spring, the coast of British Columbia serves as the site of a massive Pacific Herring spawn. Entire beaches are turned white by the sheer number of roe. This flux of energy has been referred to as the "heartbeat" of our coast, as it brings a massive wave of life to an array of coastal animals and peoples.

Notes:

Pacific Herring adults are able to come back to spawn year after year, unlike many other fish on the coast that die after spawning such as salmon.
