Field Notes

Description:

This ground squirrel has a light brown and grey molted coloring with more whitish-grey around the neck. It has a long bushy tail and longer ears than most ground squirrels. The white eyering also helps distinguish it.

Habitat:

Spotted in hillside stabilizing rocks along the San Diego River near Smiley Lagoon.
