Amazing first spotting. I suspect that you probably know the scientific name, but just in case, I have sent you an ID Suggestion. It belongs to the Stinkhorn group of mushrooms, as you say in your spotting, but I think this one is called something like "Dead Man's Hand" or "Zombie Hand". I will try and find out and let you know.
